Description: Spores bean-shaped, brown, 32–37 × 15–28 μm, low, surface covered with broad disconnected muri mostly wider than high, and irregularly pitted. This morphotype may refer to Isoetes, which has similarly looking microspores.

Modern occurence: Isoetes is a heterosporous, usually lacustrine genus, occuring in aquatic habitats or saturated soils (Tryon and Lugardon, 1990).
