Description: Ascospores broadly fusiform, equilaterally one-celled, 43 × 18 µm, pale brown to brown, smooth, thick-walled; Tapering ends with two slightly protruding pores, covered by small hyaline end caps. Diporotheca ascospores with very diverse morphology (HdV-1245) have also been recorded from Holocene deposits in more temperate regions.
