Description: Ascospores ellipsoid, equilaterally one-celled, 14–30 × 7–12 µm, brown to dark brown, smooth, thick-walled; germ slit straight and running over the entire spore-length. Based on size variability, this morphotype may include several species which possibly belong to the families Coniochaetaceae, Sordariaceae or Xylariaceae.
