Description: Fungal ascospore, one-celled, lemon-shaped, brown to dark brown, with two apical pores, 34.4‒36.2 × 27.2‒28.7 µm. This type is similar to UAB-4 (Revelles et al. 2016). KIU-257 may represent a fungal decomposer, probably a member of the genus Chaetomium.

Co-occurence: Together with HdV-7A (Chaetomium sp.) and Savoryella cf. lignicola

Modern occurence: No information

Palaeoenvironmental indication: Presence of decaying organic matter
