Description: Unknown microfossil, globose to ellipsoidal, of pale yellowish to greenish colour, smooth, 26.8‒41.2 µm in diameter, one side with a large roundish or oblong opening. This type is similar to HdV-119 (Pals et al. 1980).

(Sub-) Fossil occurence: The highest abundance of KIU-117 was recorded under hydro-terrestrial conditions.
