First publication: van Geel, B., Bohncke, S.J.P. and Dee, H. (1981) A palaecological study of an upper Late Glacial and Holocene sequence from 'De Borchert', The Netherlands. Review of Palaeobotany and Palynology 31, 367–448

Other publication/s:
Miola, A., Favaretto, S., Sostizzo, I., Valentini, G. and Asioli, A. (2010) Holocene salt marsh plant communities in the North Adriatic coastal plain (Italy) as reflected by pollen, non-pollen palynomorphs and plant macrofossil analyses. Vegetation History and Archaeobotany 19, 513–529
Frey, D.G. (1964) Remains of animals in Quaternary lake and bog sediments and their interpretation. Arch. Hydrobiol. Beitr. 2, 1–114

Description: Bag-shaped cocoons, 90–150 µm in length, with a large opening at one side; Apical appendage; Wall ca. 0.5 µm thick, smooth. Specific identification of these microfossils is highly desirable, because Frey (1964) reports a restricted temperature range of some of the species.
