Description: Reproductive structure of a leech, capsular cocoon, elliptic, bilaterally symmetric, 0.90–1.14 mm long, 0.48–0.66 mm wide, and 0.34–0.44 mm thick (the measurements of dry specimens); „Ventral“ side flat to slightly concave, lustrous; „Dorsal“ side convex, with 8–9 longitudinal ridges bearing protruding membranous rims, ridges confluent towards „base“ and ending at the „top“ around a circular pore, surface between the longitudinal ridges with irregular and less pronounced transverse ribs.

Modern occurence: As ectoparasites on freshwater fishes and Crustacea in turbulent water, fresh and brackish water.
